Why Curventa

A Different Kind of Reading Space

Our programmes are structured around reading, reflection, and honest conversation — not sales, not advice, and never pressure.

Reading-Led Structure

Each session is built around curated reading material, not lecture slides. Participants engage at their own pace and bring their own questions.

Small Cohort Format

Groups of eight to twelve allow for genuine discussion without the noise of a large auditorium. Conversations remain thoughtful and personal.

No Advice, No Products

Curventa does not offer financial advice and does not recommend products. Our role is to help participants understand the landscape — nothing more.

Unhurried Pace

Topics that matter deserve time. Our programmes are paced for reflection, not completion — participants leave with clarity, not anxiety.

Materials You Keep

Every programme includes printed materials — workbooks, reference cards, glossaries — that participants take home and return to over time.

Singapore Context

All reading materials are grounded in Singapore's specific frameworks — CPF, LPA, advance care planning — so the content is directly relevant to participants' lives.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Who are these programmes designed for?
Our reading programmes are open to adults aged 40 and above. The Pre-Retirement Decision Frameworks workshop is specifically designed for adults aged 50 to 60. The Estate Planning Reading Programme is suited to adults from age 45 onward. The Household Budget Conversations series welcomes any adult navigating mid-life financial discussions.
Do you provide financial advice during the sessions?
No. Curventa is an educational reading organisation. We do not offer financial advice, and we do not recommend specific products, providers, or investment decisions. Our programmes help participants develop vocabulary and familiarity with topics so they can have more informed conversations with qualified professionals when they choose to do so.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are held at our Telok Ayer Street reading room in Singapore's CBD. The space is designed for small-group work — quiet, well-lit, and conducive to focused reading and conversation. Directions are provided upon enrolment confirmation.
How large are the cohorts?
Each cohort is kept to between eight and twelve participants. This size allows for genuine small-group discussion without the impersonal feel of a large workshop. It also means we open each programme only when sufficient interest is confirmed — we do not hold sessions with fewer than eight participants.
What is included in the programme fee?
Each programme fee covers all reading materials — workbooks, reference cards, scenario cards, glossaries, or discussion notebooks depending on the programme. Light refreshments are provided during sessions. There are no hidden costs or add-on materials for purchase.
What background do I need to participate?
No prior knowledge of finance, law, or planning is required. Our materials are written for engaged general readers, not specialists. If you can follow a well-written newspaper article, you will find the reading comfortable. The discussion format also means participants learn from each other's questions and experiences.
How do I enrol or express interest?
Use the enquiry form on this page or contact us by phone or email. We will respond within two working days with information on the next available cohort dates for the programme you are interested in. Enrolment is confirmed on receipt of payment.
